What free means here

Everything on this site can be read, downloaded and reused without paying or signing up. The charts, the CSV files and the API are open. Guides have no paywall and no email gate. We ask for attribution when you reuse our data (CC BY 4.0) and nothing else.

How the site is paid for

The site is funded by its founder, out of pocket. Running costs are small: two servers, a handful of data subscriptions and the time it takes to check figures and write guides. We publish the running cost once a year on this page so the claim can be checked.

• No affiliate links. Links to exchanges are plain links and we earn nothing if you click them.
• No paid placement. No exchange, issuer or fund can pay to appear, rank higher or be described differently.
• No advertising and no tracking for ads. Analytics only, and only if you accept it.
• Data is free. CSV, API and embeds carry no fee and no login.

What we will never do

Shape a number, a ranking or a sentence because of money. Call a cryptoasset “safe”. Hide a relationship with a company we write about. Sell or share your email address. If we ever accept money from a company in this market, that company’s pages will say so at the top, in plain words, before anything else.

What might change, and how you’d know

The site may one day take payment for something that costs us to provide, such as a commercial data licence. If that happens, this page changes first, the footer changes the same day, and the changelog below records the date. The free tier of data and every guide stay free.

Report a problem

If you find a number that looks wrong, a link that is dead, or a sentence that reads like advice, tell us: [email protected]. Corrections are made on the page, with the date, not quietly.
